Come Before His Presence With Singing

Imgine God's presence:
The angels surrounding His throne.
The choirs singing His praise.
The majesty that fills the temple and throne room.
The Light that shines from the throne.

Everytime we pray, we enter His throne room.

Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth,
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter His gates with praise
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His loving kindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalm 100:1-5

I will praise You, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will tell of all Your wonders.
I will be glad and rejoice in You;
I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.
Psalm 9:1-2

O Lord, thank You for all that You are! Thank you for loving me. Thank You for reconciling me to Yourself. O, how I praise You for the Holy Spirit in my life!!!! It is He that draws me to You, O Father. It is the Spirit that imparts the riches of Your glory to me - You help me to be just like You! I want to praise You because You made me me to be "jar of clay" to shine forth Your glory to others. You, indeed are a great, GREAT God! Amen

From the Rising of the Sun....or Snow!

Praise, O servants of the Lord,
Praise the name of the Lord.
Blessed be the name of the Lord
From this time forth and forever.
From the rising of the sun to its setting
The name of the Lord is to be praised.
Ps. 113:1-3

Both the day and the night are Yours;
You made the sun and the moon.
You set all the limits on the earth;
You created summer and winter.
Ps. 74:16-17

The heavens proclaim the glory of God.
The skies display His crafsmanship.
Day after day they continue to speak;
night after night they make Him known.
They speak without a sound or word;
their voice is never heard.
Ps. 19:1-3

With the white, fresh snow pouring down outside, it is easy to just see "cold" or "inconvenience." However, it was made by God an ordained to fall today. Sure, I can revel in the beauty of the snow but what about the Beauty of the Creator of the snow? He is the one to stand in awe of and declare how beautiful He is. He is worthy of so much praise - from the tinest snow flake to the awesome snow drifts! Praise God that His voice can be heard and His hand can be seen - even in the snow!

He Delivered Me from all My Fears

When I said, "My foot is slipping,"
Your love, O Lord, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me,
Your consolation brought joy to my soul.
Ps. 94:18-19

Great peace have they who love Your law,
and nothing can make them stumble.
Ps. 119:165

I sought the Lord, and He answered me;
He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to Him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.
This poor man called, and the Lord heard him;
He saved him out of all his troubles.
Ps. 34:4-6

The Lord will give strength to His people;
The Lord will bless His people with peace.
Ps. 29:11

O Lord, when I think about my past fears and those things I was afraid of, I cannot think of one of them that came true. You have delivered me of my fears. So, my hope and assurance lies in that - even my present fears will not come to pass. You will never leave me. You will never let me down. May I hold on to that wonderful truth!
Amen.

Hold My Hand, Lord

The steps of a man are established by the Lord,
And He delights in his way.
When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
because the Lord is the One who holds his hand.
Ps. 37:23-24

You, O Lord, are a shield around me;
You are my glory, the One who holds my head high.
Ps. 3:3

I am always with You;
You have held my hand.
You guide me with Your advice,
and later You will receive m in honor.
I have no one in heaven but You;
I want nothing on earth besides You.
My body and my mind may become weak,
but GOD is my strength,
He is mine forever....
I am close to God, and that is good.
The Lord God is my protection.
I will tell all that You have done.
Ps. 73:23-26

O Lord, thank you for always holding my hand! I can trust that if I am abiding in You, You will direct my steps. You will lead me along the right path. Amen.

Sometimes we struggle with making the right choice. We wonder where God is leading and where we should go. But abiding in Him assures us that He will always be holding our hand. And will lead us to make the choice He wants us to make.

The Giver of Wisdom

So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Ps. 90:12

Turn my heart toward Your statutes
and not toward selfish gain.
Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to Your word.
Ps. 119:36-37

Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom.
All who obey His commandments will grow in wisdom.
Praise Him forever!
Ps. 111:10

Surely You desire truth in the inner parts;
Teach teach me wisdom in the innermost place.
Ps. 51:6

O how we all want wisdom! I want to know what the right choice is every time. I want to know what to do in those really tough situations. Teach me how, O Lord.
I think that if wisdom is found in the Lord, then we must find ourselves in Him. We must seek Him with all our hearts. Let Him be the reward and wisdom the fruit of that reward. Let Him be enough for us. Let Him control our lives. I pray that I will abide in Him. I pray that I will be completely satisfied in Him. That is where true wisdom lies.

2/1/10

Be Exalted, O Lord!

O Lord, be exalted in my life. I pray that the stresses and "to-do" lists don't get in the way of seeing You. I pray that I will dwell on Your exaltedness today! I want to be near to You - abiding in you! O God, let me be close to Your heart. Amen.

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalm 46:10

Be exalted, O Lord, in Your strength;
we will sing and praise Your might.
Psalm 21:13

Praise the Lord, because He alone is great.
He is more wonderful than heaven and earth.
God has given His people a king.
He should be praised by all who belong to Him;
He should be praised by the Israelites,
the people closest to His heart.
Psalm 148:13-14

For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.
Psalm 97:9
