When I Consider Your Works

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
For You have made hima little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
You have made  him to have dominion over the works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
All the sheep and the oxen -
Even the beasts of the field,
The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
O Lord, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!
Psalm 8:3-9

O Lord, I'm not really an out-door kind of person.
But this morning, as I sit here on the porch,
I look around and marvel at
Your beautiful
Awesome creation.
I hear the birds sing,
the insects chirp,
and see the trees and flowers in full bloom.
Thank you for caring for me,
above all of the those things.
Thank you for loving me so much!
The psalmist didn't know Your greatest act of love,
the sending of Your Son,
but I can praise You for that!

I am nobody in this world.
I'll never be famous or well known -
but YOU know me.
And that is enough.
Amen.
