Friday Favorites - Jesus Storybook Bible

This book is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G

We have read this book every night to our children for over a year and half.  Once we finish all the stories, we just start again!

Each page is beautifully illustrated by Jago.
The stories are written by Sally Lyold Jones.

Christ is woven into each story so beautifully.  Whether the story is the Tower of Babel or Daniel in the Lion's Den - she uses the themes to point to Jesus.  I'll admit that at times, while reading this to my boys, I have teared up from the truth that seems to jump out from the pages.

I highly recommend this book for ALL ages - not just young children.  Even older children and adults will fall in love with this book!

Excerpt:

Now, some people think the Bible is a book of rules, telling you what you should and shouldn't do.  The Bible certainly does have some rules in it.  They show you how life works best.  But the Bible isn't mainly about you and what you should be doing.  It's about God and what he has done.

Other people think the Bible is book of heroes, showing you people you should copy.  The Bible does have some heroes in it, but (as you'll soon find out) most of the people in the Bible aren't heroes at all.  They get afraid and run away.  At times they are downright mean.

The Bible is most of all a Story.  It's an adventure story about a young Hero who comes from a far country to win back his lost treasure.  It's a love story about a brave Prince who leaves his palace, his throne - everything - to rescue the one he loves...You see, the best thing about this Story is - it's true....Every story in the Bible whispers his name.
