Abide in Christ: The Fifteenth Day

Abide in Christ
by Andrew Murray
At This Moment
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." II Cor. 6:2

"It is not a matter of feeling - it is not a question of growth or strength in the Christian life - it is the simple question whether the will at the present moment desires and consents to recognize the place you have in your Lord, and to accept it."

"Each time thou hast, amidst the bustle of duty, the opportunity of self-recollection, let its first involuntary act be: 'I am still in Christ, abiding in Him now.'"

Do it now.  Surrender your life to Christ at this moment.  Is there sin?  Is there fear?  Is there doubt?  Is there anxiety?  Surrender it all to Christ at this moment.  You need only abide moment by moment.  Christ holds you in this moment.  Do not think of "every moment" - only of this moment.  As I think back through my day and see so many ways I failed, I cringe coming to Jesus.  Late at night, I am weary and worn.  Mostly because I lived today not in the moment, but constantly looking at the next moment.  I kept saying "I'll abide later.  I'll read His Word later.  I'll pray later."  Today, with all of its mistakes and sins, is over.  The only thing I have is this moment. I am still in Christ.  I abide in Him now.

Lord, this moment belongs to You.  Let me now abide in You.  Be my all in all right now.  I may have a lot to do tomorrow, but in this moment is where I am living.  Let me rest in You, just one moment at a time. Amen.
